A number of Aussie exhibitors will be heading over to Auckland to man the stands and take part in the educational program.
The Australian companies currently preparing to exhibit their wares include A&D Australasia, Rhima Australia, Biotec Solutions, DiverseCo, Ecolean, Eurofins Technologies, Food Processing Equipment, Zip-Pak Australia, JL Lennard, JMP Engineering, Schur Star Systems, Sealed Air and Walls Machinery.
Here’s a small sample of some of the technology that will be on show.
DIVERSECO GETS COLLABORATIVE
The DiverseCo group of companies on stand 3017 will be exhibiting a Kawasaki duAro collaborative robot, a OCS HCM checkweigher
and also a Mesutronic Metal Detector.
Kawasaki’s dual-arm duAro articulated cobot has been designed to coexist with co-workers, and has two arms that reach horizontally from the body that move together as a pair.
This configuration can perform operations similar to those of a person using both arms within a one-person space, according to DiverseCo.
Equipped with a collision detection function and a safety function that slows down its motion when near a person, the duAro can be reliably operated alongside workers.
Because the duAro is controlled by a single controller, it can perform coordinated movement, and direct teaching methods enable the user to teach the robot the required movements by holding and moving the robot’s arms, rather than having to program it.
Furthermore, the integration of the body and controller into the wheeled base makes the robot quite easy to install and relocate. The duAro is suited to pick and place materials
handling applications
on food production lines.
At an average cost
of $NZ 70-100,000 per
unit including vision system and systems integration work, the purchase of a cobot is within reach for most small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs), which dominate New Zealand’s manufacturing landscape.
In addition to savings on labour costs, cobots can increase efficiency, product quality and reduce WH&S risks, according to DiverseCo.
DiverseCo company AccuPak is Authorised Systems Integrator and Authorised Partner for OCS Checkweighers, which will also be on show at FoodTech PackTech.
ERIEZ TESTS YOUR METAL
Eriez will be showcasing its RE7 ferrous contaminant traps on stand 3021 at FoodTech PackTech in New Zealand.
The contaminant traps are 13 to 40 per cent stronger than other magnets in head-to-head pull tests, according to the company.
“Come and chat to us about our popular Xtreme Metal Detector and our ProGrade line of magnetic separators which includes entry-level and maximum strength Plates, Grates, Traps, Tubes and Sight Glass Magnets in various sizes and strengths to satisfy,” Eriez says.
“We have vibratory equipment that will align, sort, separate, meter, weigh and screen a variety of products across the food and packaging industry.”
The company says qualified technicians will be on hand to recommend the best equipment to protect against all metal contamination and advise on a vast range of applications for magnetic separators. In addition to its range of magnets, Eriez
designs and builds electronic metal detectors to identify both ferrous and non-ferrous contaminants with the option to automatically remove contaminated packages from the process line.
RHIMA CLEANS UP
Rhima is heading over to FoodTech PackTech and will be on stand 2054 with its Rhima Twin Star dishwashing system, which despite being small in size, has technology and features to boost efficiency, performance and environmental credentials.
“This elegant show stopper has won a prize award at
the Louvre Museum Paris and Equipment Innovation Awards at the Equipment Hotel Exhibition,”
the company says. Rhima’s LP-series
front loading universal washers will also be on show in Auckland.
“Just like all our products constructed entirely in stainless steel 304 with critical items like tanks in 316,” Rhima says.
“There are four versions each with different wash capabilities to suit different washing applications.
The LP-series can be used for weigh head washing, utensil washing, bucket washing, and all machines come with built in booster heaters to ensure a HACCP compliant 82oC fresh water final rinse.
