Allen Koppe has had a wonderful career as a cinematographer, one that taught him a great deal about visual image-making. During that time, he felt the need to create works that would resonate more on a personal level, an area outside of the restraints placed on his cinematic work.
Koppe particularly enjoys finding ways of adding a level of graphic symmetry to the landscape. The resulting art works are somewhat ambiguous, leaving room for the viewer to explore and interpret them in their own way.
