Being a creative person doesn’t always mean you can pick up a brush or pen and paint or draw, and Todd Cleave considers himself one of those people. So, he uses his photos to create stories.
Born in 1963 in Christchurch, New Zealand, Cleave moved to Brisbane in the early 1980s where he worked as an offset printer for much of his early to mid-career, only taking up photography in his early fifties.
Every year he travels up and down Western Australia, where his ideas start to emerge. In terms of subject matter, he typically photographs birds as well as creating composite works.
