PepsiCo said the deal was well-aligned with its Performance with Purpose philosophy to make more nutritious products while at the same time limiting its environmental footprint.
PepsiCo also said the deal added to its growing water portfolio and catalysed its ability to offer personalised in-home beverage solutions around the world.
According to reports, PepsiCo soft drink flavours, such as Pepsi and Mountain Dew, won't be available on the SodaStream platform, with the company pledging to continue to grow and invest in its trademark
brands.
Under the terms of the

FOODORA FAREWELLS AUSTRALIAN MARKET App-based food delivery disruptor Foodora exited Australia in what it described as a strategic shift to higher-growth markets.
Foodora has been part of an increasingly crowded online food delivery market in Australia where it competed with Uber Eats, Menulog and Deliveroo.
The company said in a statement that its decision to depart the Australian market was in response to “a shift in focus towards other markets where the company currently sees a higher potential for growth”.
Foodora has been under the spotlight and criticised over the pay and conditions for its delivery drivers and was also involved in two lawsuits here – an unfair dismissal case and a sham contracting claim.

COKE ZERO REPLACED BY NO SUGAR
Coca-Cola replaced its Coke Zero product with the newer Coca-Cola No Sugar to boost consumer recognition of its sugar-free offerings.
The company introduced Coca-Cola No Sugar after it found that about half of consumers did not know Zero was sugar free. Coke Zero was introduced to Australia in 2006.
No Sugar was the result of five years of development and 15 consumer trials to get the taste of a non-sugar drink as close as possible to full-strength Coke, according to the company.
Attempts by Coca-Cola and its local bottler, Coca-Cola Amatil, to grow sales of low-sugar and sugar-free products come amid rising public concern about sugar consumption and links to obesity, and growing calls for Australia to introduce a sugar tax.
AUSSIE WINES SET NEW EXPORT RECORDS
China's rising taste for a tipple helped drive Australian wine export values up 20 per cent to $2.76 billion in 2017-18, according to a Wine Australia Export Report. Export volumes are also up 10 per cent to 852 million litres, a new record.
Assistant Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources Senator Anne Ruston said Australia saw the highest rate of growth in the value of wine exports in 15 years, with support from the Australian Government’s $50 million Export and Regional Wine Support Package starting
to pay dividends.
The Government said the
market in China is continuing to expand as Australia’s free trade agreements continue to open up new market opportunities for Australian wines.
CAPILANO TAKEOVER
GETS BLESSING Australia's largest
honey company
Capilano announced its support for a $190 million takeover offer from a consortium called Bravo HoldCo.
The Bravo HoldCo entity is owned by private equity fund Wattle Hill, which was co-founded by former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd’s son-in- law Albert Tse, and investment company Roc Partners.
Wattle Hill invests in Australian businesses that offer products and services that are in strong demand in China.
As one of the largest honey companies in the world, Capilano exports its brands to dozens of countries and has a 600-strong supply network of Australian beekeepers.
The Capilano board said an important part of its consideration of the consortium offer was its commitment to ensuring the continuing supply to Australian consumers as well
as having strong plans in place to grow
exports of premium Australian honey.
