NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR FOR A2 MILK
YEAR IN REVIEW
JAYNE HRDLICKA was appointed in July to take over from Geoffrey Babidge as the new managing director for dairy disruptor The a2 Milk Company.
Prior to joining the Company, Hrdlicka was most recently employed for five years in the role of CEO of the Jetstar Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Qantas Limited, having previously led the business transformation of Qantas
Airlines from 2010 to 2012. Hrdlicka was hired for her
“extensive experience in strategy formulation and execution, insight into customer-centricity and innovation and, importantly, an understanding of operating in a disruptive environment”, according to the company.
Hrdlicka has been a director of Tennis Australia since January 2016 and served as a director at Woolworths from 2010 to 2016.

TIM COOPER APPOINTED GLOBAL PRESIDENT
COOPERS BREWERY managing director Dr Tim Cooper has been appointed to lead the largest global professional body representing brewers, distillers, maltsters and cider makers.
Cooper is the new president of the Institute of Brewing and Distilling, which is based in the UK, and which has more than 5000 members across 102 countries.
Dr Cooper was appointed as president for a one-year term at the IBD’s annual general meeting after serving as deputy president since 2016.
He is the first Australian to lead the organisation since Bill Taylor (Lion, 2004-05) and Adrian Gardner (CUB, 2001-02) served as presidents of the Institute and Guild of Brewing, an earlier iteration of the IBD.
The IBD oversees training across all levels of the brewing, distilling and cider industries, from non-production staff through to Master Brewers and Master Distillers.
It also offers a resource for career development through a long history of publishing technical journals and running scientific meetings.
Members include the heads of some of the world’s major brewing and distilling companies, and Dr Cooper said he was delighted to accept the position.

VALENTINA TRIPP is the new CEO tasked with heading up the troubled organic dried fruit producer Murray River Organics Limited.
Tripp stepped into the top job following the departure of former chief executive George Haggar who was hired only six months prior following the resignation of Erling Sorensen.
The moves at the top follow heavy financial losses for the company, which was publicly listed on the ASX just last year.
Tripp has extensive experience and a track record of success in turnarounds and growing businesses in FMCG, agribusiness and

retail across Asia and global markets, the company’s board of directors said.
Most recently she worked for Top Cut Group as executive director, where she led the turnaround, repositioning and growth of the meat distribution business in Australia, China, Japan and Korea.
This was done together with resetting the future strategy for Simplot as the leading FMCG and agribusiness in Australia.
Tripp said that as Australia’s largest certified organic producer of dried vine fruit, Murray River Organis Group had a “unique foundation” to bring high quality Australian

The company says Tumbers has been instrumental in leading the turnaround of the Kellogg Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) business over the past three years.
Since taking over the leadership of the business in late 2015 the business has changed trajectory from a decline at the end of 2015 back to growth.

Esme Borgelt replaces her as the new managing director for Australia and New Zealand business.
Borgelt who is currently Kellogg’s Australia sales director begins her new role effective 1 January 2019. She has been a key member of the Kellogg ANZ Leadership team since 2012, when she took on the role of Country Manager, New Zealand. Since 2015, she was the sales director in Australia.
A successor for the Kellogg Australian sales director role has yet to be announced.
