into digital labels, with an investment level a fraction of

Konica Minolta had Never Stop Printing as its theme for a stand which saw multiple launches from the innovative solutions developer,
including the new AccurioLabel Press 230. Sue Threlfo, general manager for
production and industrial print at Konica Minolta said, “Konica Minolta is committed to the success of the print industry. Print is at the core of what we do, and we will never stop printing. At PrintEx we aimed to help visitors explore the possibilities of print with innovative technology and solutions that can help print companies create new applications, innovate processes, and deliver more efficiently.”
For commercial printers, the stand showcased the AccurioPress C6100 and C3080. The C6100 was coupled with the IQ-501 Intelligent Quality Optimiser,
which automatically adjusts colour quality and ensures registration accuracy; it was also equipped with the new Plockmatic PowerSquare 160 booklet finisher for A4 landscape booklets. These technologies ensure superior print quality, said Threlfo.
Also on the stand was the award-winning C3080, which can print 81 pages per minute, translating to 4,399 A4 sheets
or 2,113 SRA3 sheets per hour; it can
also produce full-speed colour envelopes, professional full coverage booklets, and auto duplex 762mm long sheet prints. Threlfo said, “This digital colour print system offers versatility and award-winning reliability, empowering print professionals to surpass their requirements for printing on-demand.”
Printers had the opportunity for a first look at the AccurioLabel 230, which launched at PrintEx, and which gained a Hot Pick award.
“The new look AccurioLabel 230 features enhanced productivity, offering an impressive speed of 23.4 metres per minute; job flexibility; ease of operation; and excellent image quality for short- to mid- volume label applications,” says Threlfo. “There has been a lot of interest in this
new digital label press due to its impressive speed and flexibility.”
Also on stand was an HP Latex production printer, there as Konica Minolta has just inked a deal with HP to supply the wide format printer.
The stand also had the MGI JetVarnish 3DS digital embellishment unit, an array of applications from the AccurioJet KM-1, and an area set up with workstations to show how Konica Minolta’s AccurioPro solutions can help printers achieve greater efficiency. 21
ease of use, the AccurioLabel 230 will be an attractive option for printers looking to crack the short to mid run label market.

Imagination Graphics has made its biggest ever investment, with a new Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM-1 B2 UV sheetfed inkjet press set to take the company into new markets when it arrives in a couple of months’ time.
The new AccurioJet KM-1 going into Imagination’s Marrickville production centre will be the first in NSW, the third in Australia, and the 100th to be installed around the world.
Signing at the show, Imagination owner Emmanuel Buhagiar told Print21 that, “We have been growing consistently, and see the KM-1 as the way to move forward and take us to the next level. It will enable us to enter new markets, and to enhance our service to our existing clients.”
Buhagiar, known for his business diligence, said, “We knew that B2 digital was the way to go. We took a thorough analysis of the market, and for us the KM-1 met our requirements.
