Direct to polyester with Kornit
HOT PICK: Kornit Poly Pro
PRINT21 PANEL: Hot Picks are given for technology that brings something new to the table, and the Kornit Poly Pro certainly does that. It is the world’s first
digital print system for polyester garments, and as such should enable printers to crack new markets in sports-mad Australia, with short-run on demand
personalised polyester printing from the innovative Israeli developer.
Textile print giant Kornit Digital brought a new direct to garment solution for industrial polyester print to its sales and service partner
Kissel + Wolf’s stand.
The new Kornit Avalanche Poly Pro was
a star attraction on the booth. According to Andy Yarrow, VP of Kornit Asia-Pacific, it represents a new offering to the industry. “It is focused on the sportswear and athleisure markets, and will bring work back to Australia thanks to its turnaround times and cost efficiency for any run length,” he said.
Using a new process and inkset, the single-step system reinvents polyester printing, said Yarrow, and will enable direct printing onto black and dark garments with the target market those
who are serving the sports clubs, schools and athwear markets.
“We continually work to break technology boundaries, so that our customers can innovate and open new markets and new business opportunities, while being more operationally efficient,” said Yarrow. “The new NeoPoly technology is further proof of this innovation and reinvention mission.”
The Avalanche Poly Pro has already been embraced by early adopters including DTG2Go, a subsidiary of US-based Delta Apparel. According to Deborah Merrill, Delta Apparel’s CFO and president at Delta Group, the system has dramatically expanded the business.

markets, we see increasing demand for personalised, decorated polyester garments.
“We are excited about the new opportunities the Avalanche Poly Pro creates for our business. Through DTG2Go, we can now deliver individualised and small-run prints on a variety of polyester fabric types at the quality levels our customers demand,” she said. 21

The Massivit 1500 Exploration 3D printer, supplied in Australia by Stick-on-Signs, featured on Graphic Art Mart’s stand.
Aimed at businesses with limited vertical space who are looking to enter the field
of 3D printing at a lower price point,
the Massivit 1500 is a spin-off from the company’s flagship model, the 1800.
According to Abe Weiszberger of Stick- on-Signs, the Massivit 1500 is a great entry point for printers looking to get into 3D.
“The machine prints the next level of advertising. It allows you to bring 3D into
your business and into every advertising avenue,” he said.
Erez Zimerman, CEO of Massivit 3D, said the addition of the Massivit 1500 extends the company’s 3D printing portfolio to a wider market.
“Introducing a second solution expands the accessibility of our technology to a wider market. The Massivit 1500 builds on our flagship Massivit 1800 and further cements our position as a frontrunner of innovative solutions for next generation visual communication.
“With the Massivit 1500, print shops
of all sizes can benefit from the limitless creativity and new business opportunities enabled by large format 3D printing,”
he says.
The Massivit 1500 produces lightweight and hollow pieces up to 1.45 metres high, which can then be joined together into larger models.
Applications include point-of-sale displays, illuminated signage and props, and high-endurance thermoforming moulds for retail, advertising, events, entertainment, and interior design. 21
