New Products
Improved heat transfer
KELVION’S HEAT EXCHANGER coils for data centre cooling, process heating, cooling, air handling units, heat pumps and chilled beams, work across a broad range of liquids, tempera- tures and pressures.
This was highlighted at Chillventa 2018 last month where Kelvion displayed coils from 5mm through to 22mm in a variety of pitches and profiles to meet the many diverse requirements in applications.
Kelvion’s HVAC OEM ranges on display, with tube diameters of 8, 10, and 12 mm, offer lighter, more compact and more cost effective units. The new 8mm coils pro- vide a reduced air side pressure drop and boast a 40% reduced refrigerant charge, compared to 12mm coils.
Another product on show was the new gasketed plate heat exchanger NP150X for district cooling stations, midsize data centre cooling, and for high rise building cold supply. The adoption of a plate with
a shallower plate gap (1.8mm) and a smaller pitch ensures the highest heat transfer perfor- mance. The New NP-Series withstands an ex- tremely high test pressure of up to 42bar (g) and
is fully interchangeable with other gasket- ed plate heat exchangers.
The GBH-HP, GKS and GVH brazed plate heat exchangers. GBH-HP, for tran- scritical and subcritical CO2 systems up to 140bar, features safety pressure fac- tors for supermarket refrigeration. The GKS series is used in heat pumps where its newly shaped flow cells, ensure a higher turbulence and improved heat transfer. The GVH series, for laser cool- ing and ammonia use, unifies the brazed plate heat exchanger’s compact design and economy, with the benefit of a shell- and-tube heat exchanger.
The brazed heat exchangers are suitable for transcritical and subcritical systems up to 140bar.
The new Aquagel GPV Process Pump sets ensure optimal performance.
Technology to reduce energy use
INTELLIGENT PROCESS COOLING
company, Frigel, has announced advanced 3PR control technology and variable frequen- cy drives (VFD) for its new Aquagel GPV Pro- cess Pump sets.
The technology ensures pumps operate at peak efficiency with lowest possible energy consumption – while giving users the ability to gain precise control of the units for opti- mal performance.
The enhanced Aquagel GPV is part of Frigel’s family of pumping, reservoir and filtration systems designed for fast, eco- nomical expansion in use with its central cooling systems – Ecodry or Heavygel.
With Frigel’s 3PR control console, users can easily monitor all data in real-time for the pump stations. 3PR allows users to read- ily access full operating schematics that monitor pump performance such as pres- sures, flow rates and VFD capacity and to make adjustments on the fly.
Real-time data, combined with trouble- shooting capability, gives users the ability to gain precise control of the system.
3PR functionality includes all pump val- ues including calculated flow rates and tem- peratures and pump variables in real time. The VFD pumping assembly on the Aquagel GPV pump sets automatically equalizing pressure depending on process cooling de- mands, such as the number of machines, pressures and flow rates.
Additional highlights of the Aquagel GPV pump sets include a pre-wired inverter drive per pump (range 40 – 60 Hz).

Designed for demanding apps
VAISALA HAS LAUNCHED two enhanced duct-mounted transmitter models.
They are designed for demanding ventilation applications in building automation systems and for light industrial applications, where accu- rate and stable control of relative humidity and temperature are required.
Vaisala HUMICAP Humidity and Tempera- ture Transmitter HMD62 is optimized for moni- toring relative humidity and temperature, whereas Vaisala HUMICAP Temperature Trans- mitter TMD62 is dedicated solely for tempera- ture measurements. The new HMD62 will re- place the current HMD60U and HMD60Y, and the TMD62 will replace the current HMD60T.
The new HMD62 transmitter will incorporate all the calculated humidity parameters: dew point, wet bulb, enthalpy, absolute humidity, and mixing ratio. Also, the field adjustment and cali- bration is now convenient with the high precision trimmers or by using the Vaisala HUMICAP
Vaisala’s HMD60 series products are equipped with the latest generation composite sensors.
Hand-held Humidity and Temperature Meter HM70. The HMD62 is also configurable on-site by using the complimentary Vaisala Insight PC Soft- ware. The HMD62 has also improved measuring accuracy, now up to ±1.5 % RH and ±0.1 °C (±0.18 °F). The newly launched transmitters are resistant to chemicals and dust, and their all-metal bodies are IP66/NEMA 4-rated. Metal enclosure and ro- bust mechanics also support the easy mainte- nance. Another new useful and time-saving fea- ture of the new transmitters is the ability to open the product cover for adjustments without remov- ing the unit from the duct.
The newly launched Vaisala HMD60 series products are equipped with the latest generation HUMICAP R2 composite sensors. The new sensor offers improved accuracy and unparalleled corro- sion resistance even in very harsh environments. Vaisala product manager, Lars Stormbom, said the goal was to make the best even better. “That’s why we added new features to the well-known HMD60, and made no compromises in improved accuracy and usability,” he said.
“The combination of these new transmitters’ high accuracy, long term stability and reliability makes the products an ideal choice for any HVAC or building energy management application, like for example museums, cleanrooms and labora- tories.” Both of the newly launched models come with traceable calibration certificates.
