PLANNING PLUS
Accelerating to the future...
Back in 2005 we only had one shop and we had too many cars in our carpark, it was a mess. We had poor cycle times, and to be honest when you have too many cars, cycle times are never going to be any good. Planning Plus was only a paper-based system but with the efforts put into that system we were pretty quick to realise the benefits that Planning Plus could do for us, it was absolutely tremendous, it was mind boggling. I can't remember exactly the month that we took it on board, but I know that financial year, I would

ever made with anything I've done since. It was just an absolute break- through for us. It was so impressive that we have turned an absolute mess of a shop into a very productive, profitable shop in less than a year.
We were excited to put that paper in place and then as Planning Plus evolved over the years, we were excited with each movement so when they went digital it was a golden day. It was quite a transition to go from paper to Version One of Planning Plus to Version Two of the full electronic system that could be shared across the network.

The third business we took over in 2015 and that was a little challenging because it was a business that was basically going broke. We installed Plan- ning Plus as soon as we took over and it didn’t let us down of course. We could see where we could build the shop up and we have had a huge success. Personally, I just cannot understand how anyone can run their shop without some sort of planning system, we are so grateful which is why we have stuck with it – a tremendous system.

All our customers have a different take on how they use the system. That is one of the things that I wanted to focus on when we were in development. I wanted to create flexibility, having features that allow customization to suit each individual site. As we have grown over the years, more of that customi- zation has come into play. An example of this is that whilst Planning Plus was conceptualised for the Collision Repair Industry, we have a client in Ireland, Emerald Guitars and they manufacture carbon fibre guitars. We customised

increased the efficiency by a whooping 70% and totally changed their produc- tion process. That is no BS and verifiable by the owner & as the founder of Planning Plus this really humbles me to think we have contributed to assisting Emerald Guitars & Bodyshop around the world to be more streamlined & more profitable.
I know that as we move towards rolling the program over into Planning Plus Cloud and looking at the new features that we are building, it is exciting times for us. Cloud based technologies have evolved rapidly over the past 5 years & we did a lot of research to make sure that we selected technologies that will be driving scalable world class products into the foreseeable future. This cannot come quick enough for me.

ith the massive impact Planning Plus had at A1 Auto Finish and when we started looking at the second shop, we knew we had to smarten it up immedi- ately with the Planning system so we made sure it was up and running the day we took over. Straight away we could see the benefits.
