As we couldn’t be there in person we sent out some party starter packs to all the finalists with some snack and drinks (courtesy of Car-O- Liner) ably delivered by the Compass team.
DIANNE RUGGERI M1 AUTOBODY, VIC
“Firstly a big thank you, to you, Neil & Paint & Panel. We are delighted at our success on Friday night. The party starter bucket was a lovely gesture too. It’s been a tough year for everyone and it was wonderful to share some happiness with other repairers, even if over Zoom this year.
There certainly are some fantastic businesses out there and we are chuffed to be amongst them.”
KIP BISSELLS PAINT & PANEL, QLD
“What an excellent night and a huge thanks to both you and all the crew for putting the night together, if I’m honest, I wasn’t sure how you were going to pull it off, but you did and in such a professional and entertaining way.
“In all my years in business I have never wanted or appreciated an award and acknowledgement as much as this one. All the team at Bissell’s Paint and Panel work and support the company as if they were family and as much as Laura and I show our appreciation, this award is a real pat on the back for them.
So on behalf of all the team at Bissell’s, thank you for this award we will all wear this title with pride.”

       WINNER’S FEEDBACK
members who are loyal to the business and those business owners who are loyal to their teams. More efficient ways of working with less on the payroll could also mean better profits going forward.
Bringing in services in-house to control costs and cycle times is on the increase too, including wheel alignment. What is clear is that you need more and more space every year for all of this equipment and so larger shops as a trend are hardly surprising.
LIVESTREAM AWARDS
PRESENTATION
Grabbing another silver lining this year’s awards presentation was much more in- clusive with a very conservative estimate of 800 people Zooming in or watching online. Not to mention those who watched the presentations afterwards. It was great to see all of the Zoom watch parties going on all over the country. Judges Neil Powell and Steve Lozenkovs- ki and I could see so many familiar faces
up on the screens in the studio. My per- sonal highlight was the reaction of the team at Finishline Collision when they won best new shop - literally dancing for joy. The Livestream is still available on our website under the Livestream tab.
A huge thank you again to all of our award sponsors. It was great to have James Frape of Compass announce the NSW winners, Steven Brett of Axalta Coatings announce the Axalta Business Excellence Award winner - both our Plat- inum sponsors and Steve O’Brien from iBodyshop our Gold sponsor announced the Victorian winners. Another thank you to my co-hosts and fellow award judges Steve Lozenkovski and Neil Pow- ell for all of the time and effort they have put in this year. Last thank you goes to the viewers who gave us such amazing feedback. Next year we hope to get every- one together in the same room and pre- sent the awards in person on a stage so that winners receive the spotlight and applause they deserve.
