SAM STREET
Everything a modern repair facility
should be beautifully presented, well equipped, well laid out, motivated team
who keep the place clean and are incentivised to keep quality output high.
 JUDGE POWELL
A well-presented bodyshop with good
street appeal and all the right equipment to cater for a wide range of repairs – large
and small. The team at DSI have settled in quickly and the shop runs smoothly.
                    U
dust out and any overspray in, but it avoids having walls. No walls means both that it’s easy to move everything around the shop and also means that if business conditions change and the na- ture of work changes in the future – for instance an OEM dedicated facility or specialising in only heavy repairs – the workshop can be easily reconfigured. Smart planning ahead.
Speaking of smart the MN Spray- booths and four prep-bays look really good in the shop and MN would be very happy to see how clean both the booths and the paint mixing room are kept.
We've always said that its not just work suppliers you should have a good relationship but suppliers too. DSI have a great one with DeBeer paint supplier Reece Christensen from Bodyshop Paint Supplies in Bayswa- ter. And when we say good, we’re not only talking about being first in the queue for training on all the latest coatings techniques, or even when he helped with planning the paintshop, guess who painted the factory? Yup, both inside and out.
DSI won best new shop last year and
have again aced it this year. The shop is so well set up that it pretty much runs itself. In fact David has incen- tives to the crew if they meet tar-
gets which include KPIs for profit
and repair standards. He’s been
able to step away from the day to day operations giving him more time to work on the business.
The couple has a great future ahead of them maintaining good relationships with insurers, in- vesting in training (yes another I- CAR Gold business) and now team- ing up with a cutting edge OEM.
