Compressors, Condensers & Evaporators
BITZER’s new headquarters is the tallest building in the region.
New headquarters
in Sindelfingen
The office structure is a mix of open spaces and closed-off team and management offices. The specialist in refrigeration, air condition- ing and heating technology is leasing six floors of offices and using the other nine floors itself.
Located right next to reception, the spa- cious BITZER Showroom exhibition area showcases the long-standing company’s his- tory, present and future vision using a variety of media. Here, visitors can take guided tours and get acquainted with the products, their applications and other services in a hands-on and digital format.
The refrigeration and ventilation stations are located on the second floor of the basement. Three central refrigeration systems each with a different compressor technology (reciprocat- ing, screw and scroll compressors) are posi- tioned in such a way to provide specialist visi- tors with easy access for viewing purposes.
The new headquarters signal that the com- pany established in 1934 remains visibly and steadfastly committed to its original site in Sin- delfingen, according to the company's COO, Christian Wehrle.
"BITZER was established as a one-man work- shop in Sindelfingen 85 years ago. This is where we belong," he said. "We remain true to our roots. That’s what Peter Schaufler and the entire BITZ- ER Group wanted."
BITZER HAS TWO REASONS TO CELEBRATE: THE LONG-STANDING MACHINE MANUFACTURER
IS TURNING 85 YEARS OLD
AND OPENING ITS NEW HEADQUARTERS IN SINDELFINGEN WHICH IS THE TALLEST BUILDING IN THE REGION AT 75 METRES.
AN OFFICIAL INAUGURATION ceremony was held last month for the new building located at Peter-Schaufler-Platz 1 in Sindelfingen.
Chair of the BITZER Supervisory Board and the Schaufler Foundation Board of Trustees, Christiane Schaufler-Münch ceremoniously cut the ribbon for guests.
Located diagonally opposite the former head- quarters of many years in Eschenbrünnlestrasse, the new headquarters offer around 20,000 square metres of space for up to 500 modern workplaces.
Wider operating map for VZH range
DANFOSS HAS BOOSTED the part load per- formance and the operating map of its leading VZH variable speed scroll compressor range.
The third-generation commercial inverter scrolls retain the strengths of the previous ver- sion, with the addition of the Intermediate Dis- charge Valve (IDV) technology for enhanced sea- sonal efficiency, and a wider operating map.
The products are particularly suitable for comfort reversible applications and computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units.
Matthieu Stoll, global marketing director A/C, Danfoss Cooling said the introduction of IDVs in the large models mean there is no longer a need for high- and low-pressure compressor optimiza- tion – potentially halving inventory manage- ment requirements. He said the wider operating map brings huge value for strategic applications. “We can accelerate the changeover from older Danfoss inverter scrolls to the third generation seamlessly,” Stoll said.
Features and benefits of the new generation variable-speed scrolls include:
• Prequalified Danfoss compressor and drive
package for time to market and reliability
• Accurate temperature control and humidity man-
agement for high energy efficiency and comfort
• Low start-up current, manageable acoustic
level with variable speed technology
• A complete line-up of models from 4 to 26 TR (up to 52 TR in hybrid tandems) all with IDV
technology for superior part-load efficiency
• Wider operating map to cover more types of
applications
Stoll said multi-refrigerant capability is in the pipeline for the VZH range, including R452B and R454B, and a version derived from VZH will also be released for R32. “This will enable OEMs to re- spond to future challenges in the refrigerant land- scape, while addressing energy efficiency regula-
tions,” he said. Precise close control air conditioning systems are crucial for areas where cooling is busi- ness-critical, such as data centers, mobile phone network exchanges, and server rooms.
Danfoss’ VZH compressor and ETS Colibri electronic expansion valve offer an affordable solution to deliver the precision needed. The ETS Colibri electronic stepper motor valve with di- rect driven bi-polar motor delivers precise liquid injection into evaporators.
The unique in-line design includes a balanced cage and slider assembly to ensure tight shut-off flow in both directions, providing optimal sys- tem operation.
The third- generation
commercial inverter scrolls
feature Intermediate Discharge Valve (IDV) technology.
