voice-activated functionality

AUSTRALIANS ARE INCREAS- INGLY turning to more intuitive and innovative technologies to cool and heat their homes, ac- cording to LG Australia.
During the past few months the company has looked to capitalise on emerging technology trends such as voice activated control, remote smartphone control and sophisticated sensors that can reduce operating cost and improve AC functionality.
In August the company launched its new 2019 Split System Air Conditioning range, the WS Series- a voice-activated air conditioning range compati- ble with Google Assistant. Voice-assistant connec- tivity enables households to perform a range of operational tasks with their voice using the Google Assistant app, or a compatible smart speaker*.
The LG WS Series features a combination of style and technology with a slimline and discreet design. Fitting with a range of home décor styles,
the neat, wall-mounted unit in a white finish complements the sleek display featuring the temperature and mode.
According to Linda Louskos, marketing man- ager for LG air conditioning, the new features were important to consumers looking for an ad- vanced cooling and heating solution.
“During the past 12 months we have seen sig- nificant advances in air conditioning innovation. Today homeowners demand the same level of accessibility and usability that they get with other
smart devices around their home,” Louskos said. “LG is committed to creating a consumer-cen- tric smart home ecosystem with the ultimate aim of allowing homeowners to control all their
appliances and devices from one spot.
”Looking further into the future, the air condi- tioning industry could soon see increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). At the recent IFA conference in Berlin, LG leveraged advanced
