THE STANDARDS AT COUNTRY REPAIRERS CONTINUE TO IMPRESS THE JUDGES. IT’S A VERY DIFFERENT SCENE TO THE CITY, THERE’S NO PICKING AND CHOOSING TYPE OF REPAIR AS THE COMMUNITY RELIES OF THEM. THESE FINALISTS ARE ALL OUTSTANDING.
JVS BODYWORKS, RENMARK SA
Ambitious and enthusiastic couple Ja- son and Tracey Gordon are dedicated to constant improvement. They have in- vested in the latest recalibration and wheel alignment equipment, have a clean, organised workshop and — be- cause they are a country shop — diver- sification comes as standard. The shop could benefit from an upgraded rea- lignment system.
SAMPSONS CAR REPAIRS,
TAMWORTH NSW
This is quite simply a shiny gem of a country shop. Genuinely immaculate,
you need to put your shades on to enter the paint mixing room, the Lowbake equipment looks brand, spanking new and owners Jodie and Luke Sampson have extensively upgraded the panel shop. Former winner of the Operation Excellence Award, it speaks to great processes.
BURCHELLS PANELS
LEONGATHA VIC
Burchells moved to its present location back in 2019 and the place still looks brand new. Excellent presentation, sig- nage, equipment levels and a well iden- tified workflow. Parts organisation is exceptional, sustainable initiatives in-
clude solar, and another work area was under construction when we zoomed in. A slightly higher focus on staff train- ing and this is a future national winner we are sure.
COMPLETE BODYCRAFT,
RUTHERGLEN VIC
As country as you get. Complete Bodycraft is firmly entrenched in its community. Chris and Fiona Bourke have built this business up over 22 years from scratch and now employ around 20 people. They repair cars and trucks and have commercial paint customers. They bring on heaps of apprentices and make sure they stay up to date with technical training.
