They say fortune favours the brave, well courage is something this power couple John and Sarah Karavasilias certainly demonstrate. John took over Dad’s bou- tique shop in Sydney’s inner west. He then built a large new facility around the corner which he doubled in size (5,500m2 in total) when the shop next door closed its doors and MPSR took it over. The cou- ple now employ 50 staff and are repairing up to 150 cars per week — they are also an approved Tesla repairer.
As well as handing such a huge vol- ume of repairs and all the logistical skills that entails, the business excels in other fields and has also scooped the Digital Excellence Award this year.
MPSR put an emphasis on training as well as bringing on the next generation and aims to keep their environmental footprint as small as possible. There are a number of initiatives in place to en- gage and reward staff.

There’s a strong emphasis on training to up-skill the team as well as a laser focus on processes and SOPs, Essendon Panels won the Operational Excellence Award in 2021 as well as a number of VACC awards.
The business has carved itself out a fulfilling niche with the Royal Flying Doctor Service repairing their ambu- lances and other support vehicles.
