VEHICLE MOUNTED MOBILE SHOT DETECTION & LOCALISATION
Recent events in the Ukraine show that Weapon Locaon Radars have become extremely vulnerable high value targets. NATO doctrine is shiing towards passive sensing. The US Pentagon wants Acousc Vector Sensors by the year 2025. In Europe, Acousc Mul Mission Sensors (AMMS's) are already being tested and fielded by eight NATO countries. The key is the Microflown transducer, the worlds first and only dedicated acousc parcle velocity sensor.

Tradional, sound pressure microphone based, acousc arrays only provide opmal signal to noise raos for a frequency range that is determined by the spacing between the individual microphones.
Hence, gunshot localizaon systems have other dimensions than sound ranging systems.
The AMMS
The AMMS (Acousc Mul Mission Sensor) is the single piece of hardware to be used to detect, locate, track and classify all sorts of audible threats, such as:
Rockets, Arllery and Mortars Small Arms Fire
Heavy ground vehicles Helicopters and drones
The various firmware capabilies utilise both wireless and cabled networks.

A network of AMMS's, the Mobile Sound Ranging Array, can be used to:
Alert the Weapon Locaon Radar and cue its beam with high angular accuracy Replace Weapon Locaon Radars, providing the capability of:
- Target acquision (Rockets, Arllery and Mortars) - Fire control
- Predicng impact
In Finland and Lithuania, a network of AMMS's have been able to capture the 3D shockwave trajectories of supersonic arllery rounds.
Due to it's small footprint, systems can be installed on a variety of vehicle types.
The Netherlands has decided to install a subarray of four AMMS's on each of their Fennek.
These vehicles will be networked. Several European countries are tesng the four AMMS's subarray on the Boxer vehicle.
In Sweden, the AMMS's have been tested on a rubber tracked CV90 vehicle.

If there is no (more) network available, the AMMS itself (stand-alone) sll provides awareness for both the vehicle and dismounted crew against:
Small Arms Fire RPG’s Helicopters
The gunshot localizaon capability has been fielded by the Dutch special forces for their peacekeeping mission in Mali.
