Winners of the 2018 ARBS Awards announced at gala dinner
THE 2018 ARBS AWARDS IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO REWARD INDUSTRY EXCELLENCE, AND TO CELEBRATE SUCCESS.
It is also a gala dinner bringing industry togeth- er to enjoy good food and entertainment, and to honour long-standing stalwarts that are accept- ed into the Hall of Fame.
This year the MC was media personality Tony Squires who was joined by ARBS chair, Ian Hopkins.
‘It’s such a great pleasure to be with you to celebrate your industry and all the achieve- ments you’ve all worked so tirelessly towards,” Squires said.
After a formal welcome by Hopkins, guests enjoyed entertainment by Paper Hearts.
The first award of the night, the ARBS Out- standing Industry Education/Training Award, was presented to Danfoss Australia for their Mobile CO2 Training Unit. This training unit provides easy-to-access, hands-on training for the thousands of installers, service technicians, and OEM engineers worldwide that want to take full advantage of the natural refrigerant.
When accepting the award, the team ac- knowledged the importance of making training available to frontline personnel, technicians at the coalface.
The actual unit is a container fitted with
equipment and components for CO2 solutions accompanied by interactive training panels. It is a real live refrigeration system.
To date the team have held 32 training ses- sions and trained a total of 411 people in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.
It was a significant win considering the tough competition for this award. The finalists includ- ed AIRAH’s accredited Professional Diploma for Building Services and the Refrigeration and Cli- mate Control Centre of Excellence which is a collaboration between AMCA and the Box Hill Institute in Melbourne.
