Residential Air Conditioning Feature
Technology to connect and control all levels of comfort
THE 2018 WH SERIES SPLIT-SYSTEM AIR CONDITIONER FEATURES NEW LG SMART TECHNOLOGY, ALLOWING CUSTOMERS TO SHOW OFF SOME OF THIS SUMMER SEASON’S TOP TECH WHILST CONTROLLING SYSTEM’S REMOTELY, DIAGNOSING ISSUES AND STAYING IN CONTROL OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION.
THE SERIES INCLUDES features such as, Wi-Fi Control; Plasmaster Ionizer for enhanced indoor air quality and Activity Energy Control - all en- capsulated in a sleek, modern design.
LG Australia's marketing manager for mobile and air conditioning, Bruce Leigh, said LG is at the forefront of air conditioning innovation and design, and the LG WH series is a testament to the LG ethos of making life good by connecting with the needs and desires of consumers. “These products are designed for the way you live, set- ting a high standard for efficiency, style and per- formance,” Leigh said.
The LG SmartThinQ App provides air condi- tioner access and control via the smartphone even when users are not at home. “This means always arriving home to comfort,” he said.
“Consumers can stay in control of their energy consumption, with the LG Smart ThinQ app pro-
viding them with real-time energy usage and alerts for when their electricity consumption is about to reach a pre-set limit.”
The Active Energy Control feature also al- lows consumers to cap the energy consump- tion of their air-conditioning unit, offering three levels of power reduction for individual energy-saving needs.
The WH Series air conditioning units operate with a Standby Mode option, minimising stand- by electricity consumption even when the unit is not in use, to cut electricity costs.
By removing power from the outdoor unit and powering the indoor unit customers are in charge of energy use. For those families suffering from summer allergies, LG’s WH Series can help users breathe easier with the Plasmaster Ionier Plus and its Autocleaning features. The Plasmas- ter Ioniser Plus works by infusing the air passing
through the unit with over three million ions to reduce microscopic particles passing through.
This sterilises over 99 per cent of adhering bac- teria and deodorises the air. With Plasmaster Au- tocleaning, the interior of the air conditioner is maintained by drying off the heat exchanger, then acts to sterilise the interior once more with Plas- master ions to help minimise unwanted mould and odours. LG’s WH Series has been designed to keep household air cleaner, whilst also keeping users cool in the summer, and warm in the winter.
“The WH Series LG passionately believes is improving the day-to-day lives of Australians through its forward-thinking air conditioning technology,” Leigh said.
“With the WH Series being LG’s most innova- tive technology yet, customers have peace of mind when it comes to reliability, sustainability, and coming home to comfort.” ✺
The research report described the split system market as highly dynamic and intensely competitive.
THE HIGHLY DYNAMIC and intensively competitive global split system air condition- ing market will expand at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 4.9% from 2017 to 2024.
A report by Transparency Market Re- search found the market was worth $AU128.14 billion in 2017 and will reach a market size of $AU179.04 billion by 2024.
Describing it as intensely competitive, the research firm said it features the world's biggest appliance, electronics and technol- ogy companies.
In terms of equipment type, the segment of mono-split systems accounted for al- most 70% of the market share in terms of revenue in 2017. Based on geography, the Asia-Pacific region emerged as the domi- nant segment in the split air conditioning systems and the trend is expected to con-
tinue over the forecast period as well. “The need to conform to strict govern- ment policies and regulations in different countries regarding the emission and con- trol of greenhouse gases and consumption of electricity are the key factors influencing the development of this market,” the report said. “Companies are also looking at prospects of enhancing their businesses through partnerships and optimizing overseas busi-
ness networks.”
The report referred to the joint venture be-
tween the Midea Group and Lihom Cuchen, a South Korean appliance manufacturer, as an example of this trend.
The two companies will share benefits in research and development, technology, manufacturing, patent sharing and expand- ing its global presence. ✺
