her to the supercar racing every year – a love of cars was virtually unavoidable.
Her fate was sealed when she became a spray painter and then met her partner, a panel beater. Just over a year ago a shop in Hove came on the market. Not one to pass up an opportunity this young couple – Karlie is just 26 – took over the business.
The business mainly focuses on resto- ration but also carries out some ‘drivea- ble’ insurance work. “It was a big leap to buy Hove Panelworx but I wanted to cre- ate my own spin on how the repair in- dustry can be run.
“I have created a fun, small knit team of four staff. I do everything from sort- ing out quotes and getting the repairs done all the way down to the detailing stage before customer collection.”
Karlie feels her bright and bubbly per- sonality is just one of her advantages: “I’m always in front and one step ahead of the rest at all times.
“It’s a lot of work but I love it. I eat sleep and breath it.”

Winners will be profiled in the maga- zine and presented their awards trophy at the Women in Collision seminar in February 2023.

If you have nominated someone before and they were not selected as a winner, please nominate again. The judging panel is made up of the previous year’s winners so is different every year. The act of nominating your team member is what counts so that they know they are valued but if you really want them to win you will have to put some detail into the nomination. We will publish all the names of the women nominated.
