High performance fans
THE ABILITY TO control the speed at which the fan operates in response to real-time ventilation demands is the basis of our green ventilation strategy.
Fan power consumption changes to the cube of speed reduction control, while airflow reduc- tion stays proportional to reduced speed.
Tailoring fan speed to meet exact airflow re- quirements has the potential to significantly re- duce energy consumption through the removal of redundant fan capacity.
The EC ICQ series of duct mounted fans incor- porates highly efficient electronically commu- tated DC motors with onboard infinitely varia- ble control modules.
These fans are AC powered with control and power conversion electronics integrated into the

Casings are galvanised sheet steel. Backward curved centrifugal impellers are matched with very high-efficiency DC external rotor motors in- corporating sealed for life bearings.

New split series released
DAIKIN HAS ANNOUNCED the release of a new split sys- tem series - Alira.
With a name inspired by the translucent trim, the new Daikin Alira will be available from early November in 9 mod- els ranging from 2.0kW through to 9.4kw.
Daikin said this new split system stays true to its commit- ment to expanding the use of R32 refrigerant across its prod- uct catalogue.
Daikin’s Alira series will include features such as coanda airflow, 2-area intelligent eye (20 - 46 class models), optional wifi connectivity, improved efficiencies, and much more. It is also Sensitive Choice approved by the National Asthma Coun- cil of Austalia.
Innovation on display in full colour
THE CAREL RANGE of displays has been expanded with the addition of the pGDx7’’, 10” and 15”, touch screen user interfaces with 7, 10 and 15 inch screens.
Following on from the pGDx4.3’’, the new displays guarantee a modern and ef- fective interaction experience and simplify access to the available information.
The displays feature 24-bit colour depth, just like most of the devices we use every day. The Truecolor technology used offers around 16.8 million colours: im- ages therefore have gradual nuances and are pleasant to the human eye.
The screen also features very high brightness, up to 500 cd/m2, and is therefore clearly visible even in bright light.
One notable improvement is the WiFi connection, now available both on the pGDx4.3” and pGDx7”: these can thus communicate wirelessly with both the con- trol networks and any external devices.
A LED bar with different colour variations for notifications is another strength of the pGDx4.3” and pGDX7”. Users can check unit status at any time, without hav- ing to approach the display. Each colour can correspond to a different type of sta- tus or alarm, making the user interface ‘talk’ visually.
Even when the display is in standby, unit status and any alarms are available at a glance, with up to a maximum of eight different notifications.
pGDx4.3” and pGDX7’’ differ from other displays on the market due to the built- in temperature and humidity probe. This new feature brings real advantages to the room terminal solution: instead of two separate devices, only one single dis- play is needed to benefit from the features of both devices.
One display can be used for two devices.
