Step into the future at PrintEx19
Thousands of visitors from across Australia, New Zealand and the surrounding territories will flock to Sydney’s leading print, graphics and signage show next month. We take a look at what’s on – and why you should be there.
“Australia and New Zealand have a reputation as early adopters of technology, and we know from the feedback we get after shows like PrintEx, PacPrint and Visual Impact, that the opportunity for print service providers to connect with suppliers, and to see the latest ideas and innovations in person,
is perhaps the most important drawcard for visitors,” he says.
Suppliers, too, value the opportunity to connect with the local market, and the Sydney Showground’s 6000 square metres of floorspace is almost fully booked, with a list of market leaders that reads like an industry who’s who.
At the show
Starleaton will have the show’s largest stand in a central position.
It will be flanked on one side
under the dome by Currie Group, Konica Minolta, HP, Fuji Xerox with Fujifilm, EFI, Mutoh, Ricoh, Epson, Screen, Océ, Kissel + Wolf with the Kornit technology. Platinum sponsor Roland DG is at the entrance. In
the body of Hall 2 are more leading names including Esko, Graphic Art Mart with Massivit, Durst, Esko, Spicers, Celmac, Multicam, and Vivad. A variety of smaller exhibitors will help provide a diverse overview of the latest the industry has to offer.
“With such a fantastic cohort of the industry’s leading suppliers, complemented by a range of smaller
exhibitors who always add excitement with complementary products, little- known ideas and niche solutions, PrintEx will be a great place to discover new ideas, explore different opportunities, and to plan – and in many cases, action – future investment decisions,” Harper points out.
The exhibition itself is not, however, the only reason thousands of visitors choose to take time
away from their own business – an increasingly difficult exercise in itself these days – to spend time walking the aisles.
Just as important are the learnings and perspectives visitors can gain from the 2019 PrintEx Forum Series – also featured in this issue of Print21 – which will this year include daily Business@Breakfast keynote sessions complemented by application-focused Market Stalls, masterclasses with industry legends, expert panel discussions and practical workshops combining to offer an outstanding professional development opportunity for PrintEx visitors.
All in all, it is a complete package for businesses – and a vital opportunity to stay ahead in an increasingly dynamic and competitive market.
PrintEx 2019, Visual Impact Sydney, and Label & Packaging Expo are being held at the Sydney Olympic Park, from Tuesday 13 through to Friday 16 August.

PrintEx19 is just around
the corner and, with the Visual Impact sign, display, wide-format and engraving show and the new Label +
Packaging Expo both co-locating at the Sydney Showground in August, it is set to be one of the most diverse and interesting in recent times.
The purpose of these shows has always been deceptively simple: to bring suppliers and businesses together in a B2B environment.
But with the print sector continuing to evolve rapidly, and businesses getting leaner and busier by the year, they have also become one of the most practical and efficient ways for industry decision makers to get a handle on trends, take time out for learning and reflection
– and to share ideas, insights and
war stories with colleagues and competitors, who understand this business better than anyone.
International shows, like the four-yearly drupa juggernaut and
the recent Fespa show in Munich, set the standard by showcasing industry trends, highlighting new technologies and bringing a truly global focus to important industry sectors.
The tyranny of distance, however, means that the opportunity to see, touch and feel what is on offer is
a big ask for professionals from Australia and New Zealand. And, with trends and technologies moving so quickly, who can wait four years for the next update?
Enter the local show, where all the latest solutions from global suppliers can be demonstrated, discussed and, ultimately, delivered by locally based distribution arms, with their own support from product, technical and business specialists.
“If there is one word that sums up the value of a show like PrintEx it is connection’,” says Peter Harper, CEO of the show’s organisers Visual Connections, which co-hosts the event with Printing Industries.
