EFI will exhibit the h3 hybrid LED inkjet printer, which it bills as its most advanced yet, on stand D7 at PrintEx.
EFI brings “most advanced”
hybrid LED inkjet to PrintEx
The h-series, which is available in two models, is EFI’s mid-range platform designed for premium-
quality sign and graphics production, according to Daniel Aloi, senior regional sales manager at EFI.
“The VUTEk h3 model can be upgraded to a EFI VUTEk h5 model on site. With the upgrade, users can get even greater speed and capacity – up to forty-seven per cent higher productivity with top print speeds of one hundred and nine boards per hour,” he says.
The h3, which produces up to 74 boards per hour in eight-colour or four-colour plus white and lays down five print layers in a single pass, can be extended to increase throughput according to a printer’s needs.
“Being able to upgrade in the field is a first for EFI,” says Aloi. “It enables our customers to future-proof their businesses. They can confidently increase capacity when their business growth requires it, without the need to buy a new printer or compromising on speed or quality.”
“The 3.2m-wide h-series builds on EFI’s legacy as the leading provider
of sustainable ‘cool cure’ production LED inkjet printers while establishing new benchmarks for productivity and profit opportunity,” says Aloi.
Software will also be highlighted on the stand, including Market Direct Cross Media and Market Direct Store Front; EFI Pace; and Fiery automation tools such as JobFlow and Impose. 21

Epson inkjet is for labels and more
Epson will bring a suite of inkjet solutions to stand C18 at PrintEx for applications such as labels, signage, textiles, and technical printing.
For label converters, Epson’s new SurePress L-6534VW press will be on display, superseding its successful
L-6034VW which earned a Print21 Hot Pick at PacPrint 2017.
According to Craig Heckenberg, general manager at Epson, SurePress represents a “whole new approach” to profitability.
“The new Epson SurePress L-6534VW digital UV inkjet label press prints at speeds of up to
50 metres per minute for higher productivity while delivering precise quality with maximum reliability, flexibility and performance, and minimum downtime.

“The entire press, from print heads and inks to LED pinning and curing lamp units, media feeding, and control system are all developed and manufactured by Epson,” says Heckenberg.
At the other end of the scale
are the ColorWorks C3500 and C7500 desktop commercial inkjet solutions which, according to Heckenberg, are ideal for high-mix label requirements.
“Featuring fast-drying, durable colour inks suitable for a range of
media types and sizes, ColorWorks label solutions eliminate the need to maintain an expensive inventory of pre-printed labels so you can print the labels you need, when you need them,” he says.
In signage, Epson has announced a “significant upgrade” to its high-speed SureColor S60600 and high-colour S80600 models, says Heckenberg.
“At PrintEx this year, we plan to put some of the first samples of these exciting new models on display with Epson Edge Print software and bulk ink systems to suit the needs of high volume production,” he says.
The SureColor F-Series range for textiles will feature as well, Heckenberg adds.
“We plan to show a number
of new dye sublimation models aimed at clothing, furnishing, merchandise, soft and hard signage producers,” he says. “We will also be demonstrating the popular direct-to-garment F2160 with new polyester support.”
Additionally, Epson will showcase its SureLab photo printers and its expanded SureColor T-Series range for technical printing. 21
