Mutoh’s mighty mix
Mutoh will display a range of wide-format and textile solutions on stand C47.
Mutoh is offering a
new resin-based ink, MP31, which for a water-based ink offers
long outdoor life, two phrases that general manager Russell Cavenagh says “do not usually go together”, but in this case do. MP31 shows the characteristic of the substrate.
In textile printing, Mutoh has both direct to garment and dye sublimation systems, with its ValueJet 1948WX able to print 125sqm an hour of dye sub paper. Mutoh will also likely show its ValueJet 1938TX direct-to-textile printer. Cavenagh says, “Textiles is a growth opportunity, and Mutoh has solutions for whatever approach a printer wants to take.”
For UV printing, the recently released 1600mm wide, twin head,
twin LED UV lamp VJ-1638UR will be displayed, printing on a wide variety of media to show its versatility for sign and display.
A star attraction will be the debut of the ValueJet 628MP printer, which features CMYK plus white with unique resin-based inks and a hot
air knife media drying system. This allows direct printing on a variety of white, transparent, and coloured roll substrates, says Cavenagh.
“The new Mutoh VJ-628MP is equally suited for sign and display print shops to produce both indoor and long-term outdoor prints, as well as for graphic companies looking
for a digital solution for proofing or short-run production of packaging prototypes or customised labels, even for industrial businesses specialised in thermo-forming,” he says. 21
Mutoh’s ValueJet 628-MP resin-based printer will debut at PrintEx.
Océ hosts Australian wide-format debuts Océ will show off two new wide-format printers for the first time in Australia on stand H18 at PrintEx.
The high-end roll-to-roll Colorado 1650, which uses a newer version of UVgel ink, is the next generation
of the popular Colorado series first shown at PacPrint 2017. According to Garry Muratore, product manager for graphic arts at Océ, all the advantages of UVgel technology such as instant dry, wide colour gamut, highly durable print finish, and low cost of operation continues in the
new generation.
“The Colorado 1650 and its
associated ink set incorporates the
Productivity, versatility and quality: the Océ Arizona 1300
new Océ FLXfinish technology, which allows users to select between gloss or matte finishes
on a range of media. The Colorado 1650 and Océ FLXfinish were huge hits at the recent Fespa and we look forward to launching these technologies here in Australia,”
he says.
Also on stand will be the entry-
level Arizona 1300 UV flatbed. Though already exhibited in Australia at the opening of Océ’s Customer Experience Centre in June, this is the first time it will be displayed in a public setting, according to Muratore.
“The Océ Arizona 1300 series is a
great choice for print service providers in the sign and
display graphics industry who want to really lift
productivity, versatility and quality.
“Today’s print buyer is not only discerning in
terms of quality, but also creative, driving a new wave of innovative print products on an almost limitless range of media and substrates. This is where the Arizona 1300 series delivers in spades,” he says.
Océ will also debut the new Arizona Xpert automation option for the Arizona range. “This is
an innovative workflow tool that stores jobs as “recipes” allowing fast and automated production of complex multi-layered print jobs,” says Muratore.
The company also plans to showcase its elevated printing technology “Touchstone”, which runs on a range of Océ Arizona printers including the new Arizona 1300.
In finishing, the Océ ProCut with ProCut workflow software will feature, while commercial printers will be able to see the Océ VarioPrint i300 Series and the Océ Prostream Series.
“We will be showcasing samples, collaterals and videos of the digital print systems in our comprehensive assortment,” says Muratore. 21
