Latest Screen 520HD+SC ink customers sing praises
Ottweiler Druckerei, a leading German print provider with 80 years’ industrial experience, is one
of the recent companies to invest in
a Truepress Jet520HD+ press with SC Ink to enhance its service offering and increase throughput, thereby improving response times.
According to Petra Krenn, managing director at Ottweiler Druckerei, the Screen Truepress Jet520HD+ will allow the company to sharpen its competitive edge by differentiating its offering.
She explains: “The Screen press will open the door to new possibilities to ensure we can cost-effectively produce premium products. For our customers this means they can bring personalised, attention-grabbing projects to the end-user – crucially increasing their conversion rates.”
Krenn’s Truepress Jet520HD+ comes with a JetInspection, system which performs comprehensive real- time inspections to detect defects. IMages are clearly displayed on
the screen, allowing users to make changes, minimising the output of incorrect jobs and crucially reduce re-print costs.
Beyond this, the press will provide Ottweiler Druckerei with additional business-enhancing capabilities. Krenn explains: “The Truepress Jet520HD+ comprises competitive speeds and remarkable uptime to get jobs out the door quickly and
on budget. This will allow us to maximise our productivity and improve our response rates – a benefit to both existing and new customers.”

Totem opts for second 520HD+SC inks press
Polish short-to medium-run book specialist, Totem has purchased a second Screen press, following its purchase of a Truepress Jet520HD in 2018.
“We initially invested in Screen’s technology as we were in need of a top-quality inkjet press that would meet the growing market demand for short-run book printing,” states Michał Rejnowski, Totem.com.
pl CEO. “Our Truepress Jet520HD exceeded expectations, giving us excellent printouts – equivalent to the print quality of offset presses – and, with rising demand, we were keen to invest in a second machine.
“Essentially, the purchase of a second Screen press means that we will be prepared to meet increased demand with the rapid turnarounds – essential to keep our customers returning. We can also continue
to print on the range of standard offset media that our customers are used to. This means there are no drawbacks to choosing digital.”
Totem’s press is fully integrated with Screen’s Equios workflow software, including accurate imposition and consistent colour management, across different output devices from the same user interface – essential for multiple printers.
Rejnowski continues, “The
newly acquired printing system is a landmark purchase for our company and signifies our confidence in digital book printing. The second press will be used for colour printing on coated media and as support for the more demanding monochrome printing orders.”
Campaign installs third Screen 520 series press
Campaign, a Bertelsmann Printing Group subsidiary, specialising in one2one customer communications, has invested in a second Truepress Jet520HD press to support the growth of its direct mail services. The investment brings the total number of Screen high-speed inkjet systems to three, following earlier installations of the Truepress Jet520ZZ and its first Truepress Jet520HD.
German-based Campaign believes that this latest investment will create new business opportunities and strengthen its competitive position. With the help of the Truepress Jet520HD, Campaign
is able to send high-quality personalised mail to its customers. In combination with shorter turnaround times, a significant increase in conversion rates has been achieved per campaign.
Nik Bockmann, managing director at Campaign, says: “As a print provider, we need the flexibility
to react to diverse customer demands the very same day. The Screen presses offer us this and so much more. For example, we have the versatility to print on a wide range of substrates. This opens the door to a vast gamut of different applications. Screen presses allow us to achieve near-offset quality and production costs while delivering the benefits of digital printing. Our latest additions further cement our position as a leading innovator and expert in direct mail and one-to-one communications.” 21
