  A CLEAN RETURN ON INVESTMENT
simply by being inserted – there is no need for screw fittings or extra seals.
“While you can rely on SATA filters to provide technically pure air for painters to breath, the contribution to spray gun performance is often underestimated. By holding a large reserve volume of approx- imately 135cfm of air, the 500 Filter Series significantly outperforms cheap units by delivering consistent airflow which avoids issues from pressure drop at the gun, even with multiple painters spray- ing at the same time. As well as minimis- ing reworks, it looks after painters. If a painter gets sick, it’s obviously not great for that person but it also means they are not at work so a replacement is needed or production will suffer. It’s just one more ROI by choosing SATA.”
A comprehensive range of high-tech SATA spray equipment is available from your SATA distributor.
WHILE THE PURCHASE PRICE OF A
booth filter system is a factor, what you get in Return-On-Investment (ROI) for your paint shop performance is the cru- cial part of the equation.
Rather than choosing based on pur- chase price, selecting a booth filter sys- tem should be weighed against what it can do for overall collision centre perfor- mance, along with the painter’s wellbe- ing. For example, despite not being amongst the cheaper options in the mar- ket, the latest SATA 500 Filter Series ac- tually works out to be a cheap overall investment, according to Matt Sbizzirri, PPG product specialist, Allied Products.
“Do the ROI sums and the cost of us- ing SATA’s 500 Filter Series technology typically works out to just a couple of dollars per job for the majority of colli- sion centres. Given it supplies all the air to power your spray guns and plays a key safety role by delivering breathable air to the painter’s air-fed masks, it actu- ally makes a very wise investment. SATA has actually been designing air fil- tration units since 1931. Its recently launched SATA 500 Filter Series is the
best yet and comes packed with handy design and performance improvements. For example, a redesign of stage 1 (cy- clone separator and sintered filter), as well as stage 2 and 3 (fine filter and ac- tivated charcoal) have further improved their performance and reduced mainte- nance. In fact, for all three stages filter maintenance is now every six months and a convenient, in-built display clear- ly shows the time remaining. The filters themselves feature an easy three step re- placement process and the fine filter and activated charcoal cartridge fit perfectly
   MASKING PERFORMANCE
                     TO PROTECT AREAS FROM REFINISHED
coatings and overspray adjacent to the repair, proper masking is an important step in the collision repair process. Nor- ton’s 110°C performance tape is suitable for all automotive masking applications.
Designed for use with water-based painting systems and traditional sol- vent-based solutions.
Masking applications must be able to withstand temperatures of up to 110°C for 30 minutes and offer superior water resistance. The masking tape should grip and stay on when applied correctly,
with no lifting or edge curl, offering clean and easy removal. A positive grip is essential for good instant adhesion with superior holding power, even when applied over itself.
Look for a smooth crepe tape which conforms to all shapes and contours with high flexibility and edge tear resist- ance. This will ensure good clean paint lines whilst preventing paint bleed.
Check out Norton’s new orange tape range, suitable on both metallic and plastic automotive surfaces and avail- able in 18, 24, 36 & 48mm.
