MIRKA’s power tools department contin- ues to raise the bar for innovative design, powerful performance and clever fea- tures and the MIRKA AOS-B (and the closely related AROS-B) is no exception. The smallest battery driven spot sander on the market, this cleverly designed tool has now been officially recognised with a prestigious Red Dot Award: Product De- sign. One of the most respected design competitions in the world, the interna- tionally organised ‘Red Dot Design Award’ evaluates the best products from each year in three different categories.
The innovative design of the AOS-B and AROS-B is based around MIRKA’s state-of-the-art brushless electric motor. Not only is it low maintenance and pow- erful, it’s also incredibly compact and lightweight and this has enabled the overall pistol grip design of these 32mm devices (AOS 3mm orbital sander and AROS 5mm random orbital sander) to be extremely ergonomic. As a result, it’s
very easy to quickly and accurately target denibs (they combine perfectly with MIRKA Polarstar SR abrasives) or surfac- es that require sanding. Keeping the job area as small as possible also saves on subsequent labour time by making the next steps in the process quicker. At the same time, the AOS-B and AROS-B totally remove the hassle of pneumatic hoses or
electric cables. Thanks to ad- vanced lithium-ion battery technology, you not only get

GPI MOBILE EXTRACTION RANGE

extraction system has been designed in Australia for the sanding professional. It features many improvements and extras compared to extraction tools currently available. This versatile range, all with integrated hoses, starts with
the efficient portable one person mobile dust extrac- tor vacuum incorporating manual or auto start/stop, twin air outlets, variable suction control and au- dible service reminder.
The range also in- cludes both a one and
a two person mobile workstation incorporat- ing a five metre integrated dust hose with auto on/ off as well as a manual function for both air and
electric tools. The new design also incorpo- rates variable suction control. The units come with lockable side cupboards, draw- ers and also include a table top and hanger backboard regulator, water trap, oiler and audible service reminder. Both mobile
workstations can be pur- chased with or without vac- uum units.
The fixed six metre arm has dual pivot and 2m x 5m integrated air dust hose with regulator, wa- ter trap and oiler. Arms are also available with the addition of the EPBOX that converts any vacuum to electric/pneumatic op- eration, with manual/auto stop start and variable suction control for air or
electric tools.
Included in the range is the L3369VP7 150mm dual orbit DA palm sander that in- corporates twin orbits of both 2.5mm and 5.0mm, operating simultaneously, for quick stock removal and fine finish.
The 200mm gear driven 9000rpm LW2HG4C8 DA sander has a pad speed of 900rpm designed. The LW2HG4C8al- so has speed control, provision for dust extraction and can be operated with or without the side handle.
The GPI Velocity dust extraction block range now includes the 70mm x 400mm velcro adjustable file sheet holder that ad- justs from flat to either concave or convex. Two new Velcro block kits come with 1 handpiece and four clips on Velcro adap- tor base pads in flat,convex and two con- cave profiles as well as a suction control valve and a 30mm connector bush.
