  PPG TWO-IN-ONE CURING LAMP
                         BY COMBINING ULTRA-VIOLET LED WITH
infra-red curing technologies in one, this dual cure UV/IR lamp unit allows the choice of the most effective solution for each job.
Nowadays it is important to tailor the re- pair process to the individual job. In the priming process both UV curing and infra- red (IR) curing have their place. PPGs mo- bile, dual cure UV/IR lamp unit offers the best of both worlds. Instead of two individ- ual units taking up valuable workshop space, the dual cure UV/IR lamp unit pack- ages all the latest technologies into one.
A conventional IR lamp gives good spread of curing capability, while the UV LED also provides curing over a wide area, approximately equal to the size of an A3 sheet of paper. As a result, even larger jobs can take advan-
tage of the speed of the latest UV prim- er formulations, including the abil- ity to cures in as little as three minutes.
Each dual cure UV/IR lamp unit also in- cludes an additional, inbuilt, hand-held UV LED lamp, which is suited for smaller jobs or for targeting hard to get at areas. It is possible to use the main head for UV or IR
curing, while using the portable UV LED lamp at the same time.
Featuring durable, quality components and long-lasting LED lamp technology, the dual cure UV/IR lamp unit has been designed to handle the rough and tumble of workshop life and has passed an ex- tensive local testing program.
Available from PPG distributors.
SAGOLA 4600
           XTREME
USING A HVLP AIRCAP ISN’T THE ONLY WAY
to reduce overspray and save on paint costs. Independent tests show Sagola’s 4600 Xtreme, with its DVR aircap, has dem- onstrated up to 10% more transfer efficien- cy and up to 64% faster spraying a water- borne basecoat than some of our main competitors’ high-end spray guns.
Axalta recently added two new versions of the 4600 Xtreme to the Australian line- up. Both feature the new Titania Pro air- cap, designed for the latest generation clearcoats that dry faster lower tempera- tures and are thinner in viscosity than old- er style HS clear coats. When using prod- ucts which are more sensitive to overspray, harder to atomize and that must be sprayed with small nozzles (1.2 – 1.2XL), this new air cap excels.

In automatic mode the machine rec- ognises not only the steel type, but also the sheetmetal thickness, panel bond presence and any insulating material between HSS/VHSS/UHSS/Boron sheet- metal. A recording feature saves the characteristics of each welding spot performed to the SD card provided for proper traceability. Each report can be downloaded to a computer.
The unit itself is a re-inforced and ma- noeuvrable trolley with a 30 litre coolant tank. There is an expander on the front wheels for better stability, along with in- tegrated 6-arm support.
Other important features include: welding current of 14,500 amp; a clamping force of 550daN with 8bar air pressure; liquid cooling of the entire transformer, rectifier, electrodes and caps; easy navigation using the 5.7” LCD screen; automatic adjustment of the pressure between electrodes; plus a spot count feature to determine when to change caps.
Combined with the flexibility of the Jol- lift 1330 bench a workshop can now equip each bay with its own fast repair bench.
