   LCV SALES SOAR, EV SALES RISE
                        DEMAND FOR NEW VEHICLES IN
Australia continued to grow during July, according to a report from the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI).
Against a background of local COV- ID-19 restrictions and continuing supply chain challenges, an increase of 16.1 per cent has been recorded compared to the same month last year.
A total of 84,161 vehicles were sold across Australia compared with 72,505 during the corresponding month last year.
The states of Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia and the Northern Territoryallrecordedgrowth greaterthan20%com-
pared with 2020 Meanwhile, both
the New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory record- ed a decline.
FCAI chief executive Tony Weber said the market remained strong, “the light commercial segment increased by 40.9% on July last year while SUV sales are up by 15%. We are also see- ing the trend of restocking in the rent- al segment, with growth of 231.4% re- flecting the increasing demand for local tourism and travel.
“Also significant this month is the strong demand for electric (EV) and plug-in hy- brid vehicles (PHEV) in Victoria and NSW
where the state governments have in- troduced a road-user charge.”
In Victoria, EV sales were up 191.1% and PHEV up 161.3% com- pared with July 2020. In NSW, EV sales increased by 260% and PHEV by 84.9%.

Aussie Hail has been supporting Carbon Neutral since 2018 which has enabled them to plant 8269 native trees as part of the Plant-a-Tree Program.
“This project is to work with the traditional landowners to carry out large scale revegetation on rural farmland in Western Australia amongst other programs,” said general manager Justin Dunglison.
