Burnley is unknown to us! In order to put you in the picture, we have to

dissociate the town from its team, although both are closely related.

Let put ourselves in the shoes of the Reims players, who will arrive in this

English city on Tuesday 15th November.

The place

Coming from Manchester by coach, they will cross an area of high population

density.

The towns are very close to each other; after Manchester (over a million

inhabitants), there are cities of more than 100,000 people: Bolton, Blackburn

and finally Burnley. It is a 25 miles journey, which ends in a permanent smoke-

fog that does affect your throat and your breathing. They will reach the

‘theatre’ where they are hoping to excel.

Burnley has 82,000 inhabitants and is one of the most industrious City in the

north of England. It has mines, wool & tyres factories, cooking & radio stores as

well as mechanical workshops.
