Same Great Imprints in a New Format
T his catalog includes recent titles from two of ABC-CLIO’s finest imprints, Praeger and Libraries
Unlimited, to streamline your book search by putting the resources you need for your collection
and for your career all in one place.
The Praeger imprint, comprising our contemporary and scholarly nonfiction collection, provides
scholars, undergraduate students, and general interest readers with award-winning, contemplative
sources for developing informed positions and research on complex topics. The expertise of Praeger’s
network of authors, scholars, researchers, and editors translates to a range of topics and opinions in the
social sciences and humanities.
Our team works closely with authors to provide readers with the challenging opinions and perspectives
that have been the hallmark of the Praeger imprint for decades. In this new age of fake news and
continuous, mind-numbing social media updates, it’s easy to become inundated with information and
opinions on any topic. How can readers trust their information? And how do they know whose opinions
are based on strong evidence? In each and every book, Praeger provides authoritative information
written by authors worth listening to. Whether it’s an important and fresh analysis of irrational voting from
the psychology perspective (p. 21), or a title on how the electric battery will change our world (p. 65),
Praeger books always challenge conventional wisdom, provoke reasoned debate, and add light rather
than heat to society’s biggest problems.
On the ABC-CLIO side, we’ve been working hard on an exciting redesign of our ABC-CLIO Solutions
databases, a suite of 14 research databases you can read about on pages 3 and 110. Debuting new, easy-
to-use topic centers that put primary and secondary sources, critical articles, and multimedia functionality
at your fingertips, the Solutions databases help your undergraduate students and researchers to delve
into topics more deeply than they can with any other existing resource.
Be sure to make it to the second part of the catalog on page 128 to browse the professional
development resources found in our Libraries Unlimited section. Libraries Unlimited supports
professional success with books authored by librarians, for librarians, that inspire and equip readers
to explore new directions, acquire new skills, and unlock the truly unlimited potential in their libraries.
Whether you are an LIS professor or a collection development specialist, you will find that the latest
releases featured in this catalog continue Libraries Unlimited’s commitment to supporting the life-long
professional development of librarians through every phase of their careers.
Whichever new products you decide to add to your library’s collection this year, we are thankful that you
continue to turn to ABC-CLIO as your source for authoritative and innovative nonfiction and professional
development.
