TESTING OF SWITHCHES:
As per C.S.No.5 of USFD Manual testing USFD testing of all the switches is
being done as per the frequency of Rail testing. During the testing, 5 IMRs
have been identified and tongue rails are replaced with new one
immediately, thus averting major failure.
If OBS/OBSW is detected within 4 meters of rail length then it is treated as
IMR (C.S.No 3) and necessary action is taken. As on October 2021 there
was 18 IMRs, in SC division and all are replaced.
If OBS/OBSW is on Major Bridges and approaches 100m either side then it is
treated as IMR (C.S.No 3) and necessary action is taken. As on October
2021 there was 22 IMRs, in SC division, and all are replaced.
Division is taking following action at fracture prone locations:
Through Rail Renewal and Deep screening
TRR at sanctioned locations, falling in fracture prone areas.
Destressing along with shifting of LCA,
Replacement of crushed rubber pads/ provision of double rubber pads
on joints,
Support of defective welds with wooden blocks & Joggle fish plating as
per USFD manual,
Recoupment of missing fittings,
Regular oiling & lubrication of joggled fishplates and chamfering of bolt
holes
Releasing of seized ERCs and greasing,
Recouping of ballast
Identification of DGR of welders.
Tamping of track
Post tamping operation including boxing of ballast
