1.4. SAFETY

Special emphasis has been laid on safety in the division. The following
measures are being taken

1.4.2. INTENSIVE INSPECTIONS

 Counselling of Group „C‟ and „D‟ staff has been done to increase
awareness for safe working, duly deputing Mobile Trainers to the field
staff at site and imparting training.
 Subways are being constructed at feasible locations to eliminate the
menace of LC gates.
 Pamphlets on “safety precautions to be observed by road users” were
distributed during major festivals and also to road users at various Level
crossings.
 Night surprise inspection by officers is being done every month in
addition to checking of patrolmen as per the schedule.
 Inspections at officers‟ and supervisors‟ level have been intensified, duly
drawing advance programmes.
 Cash award is being given for Night patrolman and
 Keymen who detect Rail/Weld failures during their duties.

1.5. STAFF TRAINING

In order to improve / refresh the knowledge of grass root level workers on
track i.e. trackmen, gatemen, key men and mates, Secunderabad division
has taken the following steps:
