A Concert for Ukraine

                   st
On Saturday 31 August, Kim Rawson and his faithful team staged a concert in Hampton
Church to raise money to enable urgent supplies - medicaon, warm clothing, torches and
candles etc. - to be taken to Ukraine.

This was the third of three concerts within 5 weeks supporng this cause. All featured the
combined church choirs of Balsall Common, Curdworth and Hampton. The first two very
successful events were held at Balsall Common and Curdworth respecvely, each raising in
       excess of £2,000.

The evening at Hampton was also a huge success, again raising well over £2,000. The
diverse musical programme (Abba, The Beatles, John Ruer, Hubert Parry etc.) and the
combined choirs’ wonderful singing was much enjoyed by a full church. The audience
clearly much enjoyed the opportunity to join in community singing with the choir.

A Ukrainian family now living in the UK explained the present situaon in Ukraine, together
with the necessity for complicated and difficult methods to get these supplies to Ukraine
via Poland, involving a 20-hour journey across Europe.

All in all, a very happy evening, brilliantly directed and sung, wonderfully supported and
was greatly enjoyed by a large audience. The three Ukraine Concerts raised £7000.

Finally, a huge vote of thanks must go to Kim and Anton Rawson, each and every member
of the combined choirs and not forgeng the ’back room’ helpers whose hard work,
efforts and energy made all three events such a success.
