Additionally, HeiQ has announced that The Lycra Company will be the
exclusive distributor for the new AeoniQ fibre – a cellulosic filament yarn
made from sustainably-sourced cellulosic materials that has the potential
to have a net positive climate effect.
Invista to Exit Carpet Fiber Business Mid-Year
Kennesaw, GA, February 20, 2022-Last week, Invista informed many of its
carpet fiber customers of its plans to cease production of nylon 6,6
carpet fiber by July of 2022. This marks the end of an era for a business
that was started by DuPont over 70 years ago.
Teijin unveils advanced spread-tow carbon fiber woven fabric
Teijin Limited launched a lightweight, strong and cost-effective carbon
fiber woven fabric developed with the company’s proprietary tow-
spreading technology. Carbon fiber “tow” is the thread used to weave
carbon fiber fabrics; two-spreading spreads the fiber into a thinner,
flatter reinforcement.
The new woven fabric is made with 3K (3,000) carbon fiber filament yarn
for applications requiring low weight and design flexibility, such as
automotive interior materials and sporting goods.
