To tie the bundle you’ve created, make a large lariat-like loop by threading the end of the
manty rope through the eye splice or honda and encircle the bundle you’ve folded into the

manty tarp lengthwise (step 4). The eye splice should be at the top of the manty, with the
free end of the rope coming through it and down into your hands (not the reverse way). So,
when you pull, you have a 2:1 leverage.

I pull the manty up toward vertical and bounce it several times to cinch it very tightly, and

holding that tension I throw a loop into the free end of the rope. I invert this loop and place it
over the bundle, thus creating a half hitch (step 5). I pull this tight, keeping the half hitch
centered on the front of the manty (step 6).
