institute and had stolen the car
from the parking lot.
When she approached my van
at a high rate of speed, she said
the demons told her to kill me. I
asked her if she knew what day it
was, and she replied, “no.” I told
her it was Resurrection Power
Sunday and began to share Christ
with her and led her to Jesus.
Suddenly there was a state
trooper knocking on the window, I
opened the door and told him what
had just happened, adding that I
had just cast evil spirits out of her
and prayed with her to receive
Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
(Remember, after all it was
Resurrection Day). He told me to
go ahead and continue. This
woman got delivered, set free and
saved by the power of the Holy
Spirit.
I spoke with the state police officer
and he told me that he was a born
again, spirit-filled Christian and I
asked him to follow through with
this woman, which he assured me
he would do. He then handcuffed
her and put her in his patrol car.
We walked back to my van to
examine the damage and complete
the police report, but we did not
find one scratch even though it
was hit twice by a driver traveling
at a high rate of speed. Let me
repeat, there was no damage to
my vehicle nor any injuries at all!
We prayed and thanked Father God
for His protection over us, then
continued our trip to Florida. Praise
God!
Reverend David Gibbs had
a radical salvation
conversion to Jesus Christ
in November of 1979. After
experiencing the changes
God’s saving power can
make in a person’s life, he
served as the Director of
Jesus Today Outreach, an
evangelism street ministry
during the 1980’s in Peoria Illinois and the Tri-
County area. During that time, Gibbs was a
featured speaker at many Full Gospel
Businessmen’s meetings throughout the
Midwest region and hosted a live radio
program on WVEL radio station. He then
traveled throughout the United States as an
evangelist, seeing people saved, healed, and
delivered by the power of the Holy Spirit. He
also served as an Associate Pastor in
Springfield, Illinois, a time which saw a
powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit. He then
pastored Word of Faith Church in Morton and
Pekin and hosted a weekly television program
on the Central Illinois cable television network.
