them away and He wouldn’t
have given them to me if he
didn’t think I was able to use
them. I was once told that God
doesn’t call the qualified, He
qualifies the called.
So, that being said, I realized
that if He gave me a gift to use
for Him, He would make certain
with His assistance and
anointing that I had the ability
to use them.
If you have ever bought a
toy as a Christmas gift for a
child, you know that you always
check the toy to make certain
that it is age appropriate and
that the child will be able to use
it. You don’t go out and buy an
adult bicycle for a 2-year-old and
expect that they will be able to
jump on the bike and peddle
away. The child would need to
grow taller and learn to ride a
much smaller bike first before
moving to an adult’s bike.
So, how can we think that
God, our heavenly Father would
give us a gift that we weren’t
ready to use? He will only give us
the gifting He has called us and
qualified us to do.
We would also be upset to
know the gift we bought for the
child was put in a drawer or
closet and never used. I have to
wonder how God feels when we
put our gifts aside and refuse to
use them?
Too many times we look at
our own ability rather than look
at the ability we have with God. I
know that I always have used the
excuse of what if I look stupid,
what if they think I’m just saying
something to get attention, what
if they get offended by what I do
or say, because I didn’t do or say
it right?
Or I look at the other mighty
women of God within our
churches and became intimidated
by them. I see how confidant they
are or how well they speak and
hear this little voice that says,
“No way are you good enough.
You can never preach or teach
that well.”
