Like good old Sam Lefkowitz, if the
new healthcare past year has gifted us with anything
it’s an extreme appreciation for what
was and what might have been. Tis the
realities? season for gratitude, giving and lots
and lots of humble pie and patience.

Hanukah or Christmas together in
packed houses this year, we do appre-

cooped up with for the past 10 months.)
Carol and I know we’re lucky to be healthy, housed and able to hunker down at home. And for us, the icing on the cake
is spending lots of time with our dog Gabby even at her advanced 14 ½ years. We’ve even been spared the trauma of having
to adapt to a remote work environment since we’ve worked out of our house for the past 17 years.
So while we acknowledge our good fortune and with a deep appreciation to all the healthcare workers, grocery store clerks
and delivery folks who are making all of our lives possible, I jotted down a little list of my own eccentric thankful thoughts:
1. Online shopping — while Carol may think the one nice thing about the quarantine has been me not going out and
spending money — I’ve been busy “adding to cart.”
2. It’s now shorts 7 days a week.
3. Palm Beach Bagel … because it’s our one escape hatch.

kitchen (bearing in mind, nothing is installed … but there’s always 2021.)

5. And most important, a happy, healthy family (at least, that’s how they looked on the last Zoom call!)
And as for wishes for all of us in 2021 … a peaceful, happy, healthy year with
