Broward Health Coral Springs Recognized by the Joint Commission for
Minimally Invasive Colorectal Surgery
Broward Health Coral Springs’ (BHCS) Minimally Invasive Colorectal
Surgery Program has achieved full Joint Commission re-accreditation with
zero deficiencies. As the first and only program of its kind in Florida to offi-
cially earn these marks, it is lead by Medical Director, Dr. Charles Lago along
with a group of multidisciplinary clinicians specializing in colorectal surgery.
“The colorectal team at Broward Health Coral Springs exemplifies expertise
in their field combined with unmatched caring and commitment to our
patients,” said Drew Grossman, CEO of BHCS. “This recognition from The
Joint Commission is a stamp of excellence and shows that the hospital is com-

Quantum Gives Another $450K for County Delray Medical Center received the 2017 Distinguished Hospital Award for
Clinical Excellence™ from Healthgrades. The distinction places Delray
Health Medical Center in the top 5% for clinical excellence among more than 4,500
hospitals nationwide. Delray Medical Center is just one of four hospitals to
have earned this designation for 15 straight years.
The board of trustees of Quantum Foundation, under the chairmanship of
Denis Coleman, recently approved ten new grants totaling over $450,000. The
West Palm Beach-based private foundation funds projects that help improve
the county’s health in fresh and innovative ways. The foundation has assets of
approximately $140 million and since its inception in 1997 has awarded over
$120 million to hundreds of nonprofit grantees in Palm Beach County. Every
dollar the foundation grants stays in the County to benefit local communities.
This round of grants brings 2016’s total grant awards to $4 million. The
approved grants included:
• Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County ($50,000)
• Meals on Wheels ($75,000)
• The Arc of Palm Beach County ($50,000)
• The Children’s Healing Institute ($97,600)
• West Palm Beach Library Foundation’s Healthy You Program ($50,000)
