                       Jackson Health System Honors

                Employees for Outstanding Achievements

          During the October 2007 Public Health Trust Board of Trustees meeting, two employ-                Happy
        ees and one team were honored with October 2007 Achiever Awards by Marvin O’Quinn,
        president & CEO, Jackson Health System, and Ernesto de la Fé, chairman, Public Health
        Trust Board of Trustees.
          The two employees honored were Geneve Wright, a nursing assistant II at the Jackson
        Memorial Long Term Care Center; and Alexandra Garcia, a respiratory therapy techni-
        cian II at Jackson South Community Hospital. The team recognized was the Newborn                Holidays
        Intermediate Unit consisting of 60 employees.
          Geneve Wright was honored for her compassion, respect, service excellence and qual-
        ity. She was nominated by the daughter of a patient who thanks Geneva for caring for her
        mother with love, respect and compassion.
          Alexandra Garcia was recognized for compassion. She was nominated by the daughter                  from the publishers of
        of a patient who said, “Alexandra demonstrated utmost compassion in caring for my
        father. She was willing to help and support us during our darkest hours. Her profession-
        alism is such that we will always be grateful.”                                                South Florida Hospital News.
          The Newborn Intermediate Unit was honored for commitment, teamwork and com-
        munication. The unit was nominated for always going above and beyond the call of duty
        in caring for premature babies, chronically ill babies, full-term babies being observed for  Charles and Carol Felix
        specific medical reasons, multiple births, etc.

          St. Mary’s Medical Center was presented with an award by the U.S. Department of
        Health and Human Services (HHS) for its success in increasing organ donation rates at
        the hospital. St. Mary’s was awarded the Department’s Medal of Honor for Organ
        Donations for achieving and sustaining a donation rate of 75 percent or higher among
