Daniel Smith
Revenue Cycle Manager
Daniel Smith is the revenue cycle manager at Broward Health
Medical Center. Smith’s main role is to accelerate revenue into
the facility. He works with many departments at Broward
Health Medical Center and within the larger Broward Health
system to ensure reimbursements for services. Smith also over-
sees the Medical Options for Patient Eligibility Department
(M.O.P.E.D.), which assists patients with eligibility for pro-
grams like Medicaid, KidCare, federally funded marketplace
insurance and charitable care. “I enjoy collaborating with patients, my team, other
departments and payors to help facilitate patients getting the care they need, while ensur-
ing the reimbursement is received for the excellent healthcare we provide at Broward
Health,” said Smith. Smith has been with Broward Health for 12 years, starting as a reg-
istrar in the Emergency Department. He has worked in a variety roles, including revenue
cycle manager at Broward Health Coral Springs in 2018 and was named revenue cycle
manager at Broward Health Medical Center the following year. Smith has a bachelor of
science in exercise science and health promotion from Florida Atlantic University. He is
a professional member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He has also
fundraised for the American Diabetes Association during the Step Out Walk to Stop
Diabetes.
