Pediatric Cancer Patients with Tihesha Wilson, MD
Dr. Tihesha Wilson is a highly accomplished breast care spe-
$10,000 Donation to Broward cialist who recently joined Jupiter Medical Center to head the
award-winning Comprehensive Breast Care Program.
Health Foundation Fellowship trained in advanced laparoscopic surgery and breast
surgical oncology; Dr. Wilson is a highly skilled breast surgeon
with specialized training in minimally invasive surgical tech-
niques. Internationally practiced in oncoplastic surgery, Dr.
Wilson’s expertise combines the latest techniques in plastic sur-
gery with breast surgical oncology and has significant experi-
ence with intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT), an innovative treatment combining
surgery with one single dose of radiation. Dr. Wilson is a Clinical Associate Professor of
Surgery at both Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine and Florida international
University’s College of Medicine. Dr. Wilson’s distinctions include multiple “Top Doctor”
awards, and she is a Distinctive Women in History honoree.
Deborah Brandt, DO
Dr. Debra Brandt is the Director of Medical Oncology at The
Anderson Family Cancer Institute at Jupiter Medical Center. A
board-certified, fellowship-trained, hematologist/oncologist, Dr.
Brandt’s focus is to bring clinical trials to the community to
allow patients to participate in state-of-the-art research options
for their cancer or hematologic disorders close to their homes.
Dr. Brandt brings years of clinical expertise to Jupiter Medical
Center. Prior to joining Jupiter Medical Center, she was

ogy/oncology at Yale University, subspecializing in general oncology, breast cancer and

Funds from VITAS support pediatric cancer patients at Salah Foundation Children’s
Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, which is operated by Broward Health. Salah specializes
in family-centered care for newborns, children and youth.
The foundation earmarked the donation to purchase a tabletop warmer for up to 30
blankets to soothe children who often feel extremely cold during and following
chemotherapy treatments. Remaining funds will purchase 10 iPads to keep the pedi-
atric patients busy with games, movies and educational activities while they’re under-
going cancer care.

shared dedication to the improved health of our community,” said George M. Tokesky,
VITAS general manager for Broward County. “We chose to contribute to Salah
Foundation Children's Hospital because it provides direct comfort to local children
receiving treatments for severe forms of cancer.”
