Prime Minister Modi gave away the awards.
The 24 kids who received these awards have all performed unparalleled
feats, whose story is unmatched.
Mhonbeni Ezung : Mhonbeni was the
year's youngest winner of national bravery
award. Her grandmother and she went to
wash hands in the river before having
lunch in a village in Nagaland. Her
grandmother suddenly fainted and fell into
a five and a half feet deep river. Seeing this
Mhonbeni tried to pull her out and in
doing so she herself fell into the river.
However, she succeeded in bringing her grandmother out. She gave her
some food and rushed to the village and returned with locals who took her
grandmother to a hospital. She saved her grandmother's life.
Riya Chaudhary (posthumously) Shamli Girl : Riya sacrificed her life to
save her father on 10th March 2014. Some
people forcefully entered their house and
started beating the
family members.
When one of them
aimed a gun at her
father, Riya came in
between and took the bullet on herself.
She died on the spot.
