13. Use of ‘Is’, ‘Am’ and ‘Are’

Look at the following pictures and read the sentences :

I am Sahil. I am seven years old.

She my friend Jiva. She my mother.

They are my friends. We are going to market.

‘am’ is used with ‘I’.

‘is’ is used with ‘he’, ‘she’, ‘it’ and singular.

‘are’ is used with ‘you’, ‘we’, ‘they’ and plural.

Note ‘is’, ‘am’ and ‘are’ are used in the present tense.
