A Rainy Day
On some days, it rains heavily. We wear
raincoats or carry umbrellas to protect ourselves
from the rain. We see dark clouds in the sky. We
enjoy sailing paper boats in the streets. Rain cools
the atmosphere.

Sometimes, we see a rainbow after it rains. A rainbow has seven colours : Violet,
Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and Red.
Seasons
When one type of weather stays for many days or months, it is called
a season. There are five seasons in a year.
(i) Summer Season – April, May, June
(ii) Rainy Season – July, August, September
(iii) Autumn Season – October, November
(iv) Winter Season – December, January
(v) Spring Season – February, March
! Weather is the day–to–day conditions of a particular place.
! Weather changes many times a day.
! A cold wave is called Sheet Lahar in Hindi.
! On a windy day, the wind blows very fast.
! Rain cools down the temperature.
! A rainbow has seven colours.
