6. Convert 100°F to °C.

                Ans. Given  °F = 100°F
                                 °C = ?
                                         C ° (°F−32 )
                       We know that =
                                         5 9
                                             5
                                                (
                       or C ° =× 100 32)
                                                     −

                  7. Wood is used to make the handles of the utensils. Why?

Ans. Wood is used to make the handles of the utensils because it is a bad conductor of

heat. Also, it is light weight and comfortable to hold due to its natural texture and
                       grip.

                  8. What will be the difference in Fahrenheit scale if in the degree Celsius scale the

                       difference is 15°C?

                Ans. Given  °F = ?
                                 °C = 15°C

                                        °C ( °F−32 )
                       We k now that =
                                        5 9
                                        15 ( °F−32 )
                       or =
                                        5 9
                       or ( °F−32 ) = ×39

                                              2
                       or ( °F−32) = 27
                       or F ° = 59°F

          G. Long answer questions.

                  1. Explain sea breeze and land breeze with the help of diagrams.

Ans. Land breeze and Sea breeze
During the daytime, land gets heated faster than water. So, the air above the land is

warmer than the air above the sea. This causes the air above land to expand and rise.

The cooler air from the sea rushes in towards the land to occupy the space left by the
warm air. The warm air from the land moves towards the sea. This creates circular

currents of warm and cool air. The cool air blowing from the sea towards the land

during the day is called sea breeze. The houses in the coastal areas are constructed
with windows facing the sea to receive the sea breeze.
