Determination	and	Focus

Determination and focus may be the most essential characteristics for a
successful	businessperson	to	have.	Otherwise,	he	will	be	destined	to	abandon	his
goal, surrendering to the inevitable setbacks, frustration, and, ultimately,
exhaustion common in climbing the corporate ladder or developing a business.
Management and employees can hit loggerheads. Strategies go awry. Suppliers
come	up	short.	Business	partners	don’t	shoulder	their	load.	Expect	to	encounter
fierce	rivals,	fickle	customers,	and	hesitant	bankers.	In	short,	be	resolute.	Muster
the	drive	to	stay	the	course.

It	does	not	matter	how	slowly	you	go,	so	long	as	you	do	not	stop.

         —Confucius,	Chinese	philosopher

Success	is	not	final,	failure	is	not	fatal:	it	is	the	courage	to	continue	that	counts.

—Winston	Churchill,	former	prime	minister	of	the	United	Kingdom
