Wisdom

Exactly	what	constitutes	wisdom?	What	are	its	constituent	parts?	The	Oxford
English Dictionary defines it like this: “The capacity of judging rightly in
matters relating to life and conduct; soundness of judgment in the choice
between means and ends; sometimes less strictly, sound sense in practical
affairs;	opposite	to	folly.”	In	the	context	of	business,	particularly	within	complex
organizations,	wisdom	is	an	especially	abstruse	quality	to	assess,	given	the	many
variables around which wisdom must be applied. Leaders are called upon to
make sound decisions and exercise correct judgments concerning customers,
employees,	shareholders,	regulators,	and	rivals.	The	quotes	that	follow	reflect	all
kinds	of	wisdom	across	the	business	spectrum.

Wisdom	is	not	like	money	to	be	tied	up	and	hidden.

         —Akan	proverb

… in the end, it is impossible to have a great life unless it is a meaningful life.
