Creative biography

Oguz Savasan

Oguz Savasan is a partner in Rabarba Digital Ad Agency in Istanbul. Born in
1970, he graduated from Robert College, the American High School in Istanbul
and went on to study mechanical engineering at Bosphorus University, Istanbul.
In 1994, he received his MBA in strategy from City University London Business
School. He has worked as a brand manager in Unilever, and a marketing and
sales manager with the Eczacibasi Group – a Turkish conglomerate with
operations in FMCG (fast moving consumer goods), healthcare and building
materials. In 2000, Oguz joined Young & Rubicam, Istanbul, as Head of Strategy,
where he met Serdar Erener, now his business partner at Rabarba. His clients
included local giants such as Turkcell, Arcelik and Garanti Bank, as well as
Y&R’s global clients including Colgate, Danone and Kraft Foods. In 2004, he set
up Alametifarika, an independent agency in Istanbul, with his management
colleagues from Y&R. Between 2004 and 2007 his work earned him four Gold
Effies and two Silver Effies. In August 2007, Oguz established digital advertising
agency Rabarba with Erener, and together they have grown the business to
became one of the most award-winning agencies in Turkey.
