As a child, Greg always new he wanted to be a funeral director. Standing next to his father, an Orthodox Priest while servicing many families, he got his calling at an early age. Growing up in a small family in Carteret, our family was always dedicated to our community.
Greg strived in school, was a top athlete and became an All State Football Player. After receiving a full scholarship to the University of Connecticut, he decided to follow his passion and come home to what he was meant to do. He was a Cume Laud Graduate of the American Academy McAllister Institute of Mortuary Science in New York City.
Greg started his internship in 1995, at the Skrocki Memorial Home in Perth Amboy, and went on to work at many other various funeral homes learning to be the best at what he is today. After receiving his license in 1997, Greg along with the help of his father, became the proud owners of the Chubenko Funeral Home in Port Reading. Shortly there after, we were offered a great opportunity the succession of the Leon G. Gerity Funeral Home in Woodbridge Township today known as the Gerity & Chubenko Funeral Home, and in October of 2021 became the proud new owners of the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home in Perth Amboy.
